Design Concept:

All Emma wants to do is spread her wings and migrate to new opportunities. Archie wishes things could return to the way they use to be. As the lecture Archie gives drifts into flashbacks, we wanted to create almost a dreamlike version of Archie’s memories. This is why when Emma puts on her dress at the top of the show, she does not change what she is wearing for the rest of the production. That Emma is the ideal that Archie keeps consistent in his mind. Archie want’s his world in his control, so his clothes do change in certain flashback scenes.
